Jato 3.3 – Why you need one…

This stupid fast Jato 3.3 was the inspiration for this Stupidfast site because this car really is stupid fast out of the box! See the in-car view here.

It’s small 1/10th scale, in the “reasonably priced car” market, combined with it’s solid design make this a must have for the RC collection. Parts are easy to come by an there are some great Hop Up ideas direct from the manufacturers web site, see this section on the Traxxas site Building the ultimate Jato!

I knocked a couple of their suggestions onto my Jato which I have had long enough now to be on it’s second rebuild of pretty much everything.

I think the resonator pipe I added after the engine had been run in made a difference to the power, not that it needed it!

The Traxxas low-mass CVD rear drive-shaft set looks great, did it make a difference?

Who knows! (Who cares as long as it looks good and if it looks good it must be faster right?)

I changed the tires as well, but as with most 2WD cars (Like the HPI Baja) getting the horse power to the ground in different terrain seems to require an array of different tires that need to be swapped out depending on where you are and what you are wearing. Unlike the larger 4WD cars where you can get away with one set of tires for almost every occasion.

I farted around with the suspension, but suspension is a black art and call me crazy but when only the back half of the car is on the ground most of the time adjusting toe and camber just seems like bullshit to me!

Check out the Traxxas video of their completed project below it will inspire you to spend money!

Traxxas R/C Projects – ULTIMATE OFF ROAD JATO 3.3

I have the front off road tires but as the front of the car doesn’t spend much time on the ground they seemed like a waste of time, I’d be better of with a set of fins!

Ran into this site from a RCTech.net post. I recently sratted unpacking the RC stuff after shelving it for a few years and noticed I have a extremely random assortment of T4, XXT, Rustler parts/ tires/ electronics I will never use. I would be happy to ship them in but not sure of the status of any of the electronics and not sure what I have left to test them. Regardless I would be happy to send in everything I can for what I consider a great resource for kids. Please send an address for parts shipment and let me know regarding whether to include untested electronics.Brian Kuzara
